1. Cream cable knit sweater + ripped skinny jeans that fit just right + converse sneakers just might be my new fall uniform.
2. Vacations at home are by far the most relaxing ones. We need to take them more often.
3. Joy is always there, but choosing to tap into it and live it is a daily choice.
4. There is no greater physical warmth then a 100-pound German Shepherd snuggled up right next to you. That, plus a down comforter and you're pretty much good to go for winter.
5. After hosting Thanksgiving, I realize I kind of love this hosting thing. I want to do it more.

Countless three-year-old tantrums can suck the life out of you, but then one magical night, that same three-year-old will take a shower on her own accord, let you comb her hair with no complaints, will get into bed willingly, then will tell you to come close so she can tell you a secret. That secret will melt your heart and life will be completely restored.
7. My children are truly, ridiculously happy living in Mexico City. They love their friends, their school, their nanny, their church, all of it. Needless to say, they're teaching me a lot.
8. Being brave means not everyone is going to like what you do.
9. Candles and fresh flowers are my favorite holiday decor.
